Thank you very much for all your hard work. I have just placed an order for an MTP3055 so I'll be able to put the whole circuit together once it arrives. Thank you also for the explanation, as I will now be able to work out how to put circuits like this together in the future.

KrisNZ - very cool circuit. Basically a form of Schmitt trigger with one of the transistors being the power switch. I've never seen it done that way.
