Announced by MACOM in June, The MAAM-011238-DIE is an easy-to-use wideband amplifier that operates from 100 kHz all the way to 50 GHz (or 67.5GHz for the Bare-DIE version). The wideband amplifier is suited for 5G test and measurement equipment scaling to mmW frequencies with positive gate bias eliminating the need for negative voltage.
MACOM's wideband distributed amplifier is available in both surface mount and Bare-DIE packaged formats. It provides systems designers and engineers the ability to use a single amplifier for 5G applications that require sub-6 GHz to mmW frequencies.
The MAAM-011238 Wideband Amplifier by MACOM
Supporting wideband operation from 100kHz up to 50GHz (67.5 GHz for Bare-DIE), the amplifier has a typical gain of 14 dB at the 30 GHz mark. Its input and output are matched at 50 Ω with an average return loss of only 10 dB. Positive gate bias enhances ease of use by removing the need for negative voltage supply, and an integrated power detector simplifies design easier deployment and preservation of board space.

Designed to be an effective broadband amplifier solution for 5G sub-6 GHz to mmW testing, the MAAM-011238 and MAAM-011238-DIE has low distortion and linear operation can cover the entire frequency of a wideband operation without the need for any external circuitry.
The high-power nature of the wideband amplifier makes it ideal for use as a driver or output device.
