BittWare’s TeraBox 200DE: A Server for Complex Workloads of Edge Applications

BittWare has devised the TeraBox™ 200DE edge server FPGA accelerator, which deploys high-level performance in the more challenging and rough environment typical for edge applications.

The FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Array) is an integrated circuit used for data conversion. It allows the chip to be reconfigured to connect inputs/outputs and logic blocks in many different ways.

The TeraBox™ 200DE edge server also features the latest FPGA accelerator, allowing customers to develop and deploy with minimal cost and risk and is deployment-ready for mission-critical applications. 

 

Construction

The 200DE contains a 2U short-depth server based on the new DELL PowerEdge™ XE2420, which offers outstanding strength, rigidity, and performance at a competitive price. The 200DE also has a smaller footprint. It operates more efficiently as it occupies less space and allows its customers to access its ports easily.

A range of latest FPGA accelerators from Achronix, Intel, and Xilinx are combined with 200DE features to support the progressively complex and compute-intensive challenges of the workload such as 5G, NFV (Network Function Virtualization), predictive analytics and machine learning inference.

Specification and Features

With minimum cost and risk, the TeraBox™ 200DE edge server uses a contemporary FPGA accelerator which allows engineers to develop and deploy at a faster rate. 
 

2U Short-Depth Chassis 

It has a 2U short-depth rack server based on the Dell PowerEdge™ XE2420, which is ideal for delivering powerful 2S performance in a short-depth form-factor. It is suitable for large storage edge applications.

 

Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors

The 200DE includes two 2nd Gen Intel Xeon scalable processors with improved memory speed providing essential performance and power efficiency.

 

Temperature Range

The 200DE edge server operates extended temperature range varies from 5°C to 40°C.

 

Certified Cards

The 200DE supports multiple PCIe (peripheral component interconnect express) accelerator cards and comes with features Achronix, Intel and Xilinx FPGAs:

  • Two S7t-VG6 cards featuring Achronix Speedster7t FPGA and 400GbE I/O with 4 banks GDDR6 Memory.

  • Two 520N-MX cards featuring Intel Stratix 10 MX and 250GbE I/O with 16GB HBM2 memory.

  • Two XUP-P3R cards featuring Xilinx UltraScale+ FPGA, 4x 100GbE network I/O, with advanced clock synchronization, and trigger capabilities.

Other certified cards and additional FPGAS expansions are also available in BittWare’s M.2, U.2, and ESDFF.
