Bel Power Solutions announced two power supply series for medical and industrial applications on September 19th 2019, the 1000 W ABE1000 and MBE1000. AC-DC enclosed power supplies that act as high-power density solutions.
Bel Power Solutions, a Bel Group company and a major global manufacturer of power management devices with use cases across key sectors, recently announced two different series of enclosed power supplies—the ABE1000 Series and the MBE1000 Series. The former is designed for industrial applications and the latter for medical.
Both Series are available in multiple single output voltages and the MBE1000 has been designed to comply with the latest medical standards, EN/IEC 60601-1 with 2x MOPP isolation for Class I and II applications.
The ABE1000 Series has a wide universal AC input range of 85 – 264 VAC that offers up to 1000 W of output power and several single output voltages. Despite its high power, the ABE1000 has a very compact footprint, measuring in at a mere 127x241.5x41mm.

Bel Power Solutions says that the high efficiency and high-power density nature of this Series ensures minimal power loss in users' equipment. This makes it a lot more reliable and perfect for use in industrial settings where there is a need to satisfy stringent regulations.
Potential applications for the ABE1000 Series include industrial applications, robotics, wireless communications, lighting, and renewable energy.
The MBE1000 Series is designed for use in medical settings and has been approved to the latest standards, EN/IEC 60601-1, which is a widely accepted benchmark for medical electrical equipment. EN/IEC 60601-1 has become a requirement for the commercialization of medical electrics in many countries. The only difference between the ABE1000 Series and the MBE1000 Series is the latter's approval to this standard.
Potential applications for the MBE1000 include dialysis, hospital beds, monitoring, imaging, diagnostics, and drug pumps in the home and in hospital settings. This helps designers meet the demand for more home-friendly medical solutions that is arising as a result of IoT growth.
