Arrow Electronics will offer the full range of R3 Communications’ ECHORING wireless networking products throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Arrow Electronics has recently announced that it will offer the full range of R3 Communications’ ECHORING wireless networking products throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

ECHORING products support ultra-reliable, low-latency wireless machine-to-machine communications with performance similar to that of current wired systems.

Meeting the Needs of the IIoT

Companies that want to deploy Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) or Industry 4.0 solutions need wireless networks that can match or exceed the performance and reliability of existing wired control networks. R3 Communications says that its ECHORING delivers real-time performance levels with a mere 1ms of latency, even in the most demanding of industrial environments.

Historically, industrial automation applications required critical syncing of different devices that could only be achieved via wired networks. However, Industry 4.0 can place a great strain on cabling with scalability requiring a more flexible approach than fixed, wired links can deliver.

Using proprietary radio technology combined with cooperation to support reliability levels up to SIL 3, ECHORING can be retrofitted into existing industrial hardware and integrated with existing industrial software to help companies preserve existing investments, infrastructure, and architecture.

A Range of Products for Varying Needs

There will be a range of software, hardware modules, devices, and reference designs based on Texas Instruments’ WiLink 8 Chip with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity that will be available for integration with existing networks.

ECHORING’s security is provided by Olympus Sky, a provider of simple and low-cost military-grade security solutions. Supported industrial communications protocols include PROFINET, PROFIsafe, Ethernet, and SafetyNet.

Arrow Electronics will be offering a starter kit that enables users to test ECHORING’s performance in their own controlled environment. The kit will allow users to substitute the kit’s wireless capabilities for existing Ethernet connections.
