Easy
There are four slots cut into the gap on either side of the case
where the two halves join. Slide a very thin screwdriver into
each slot and flex it about a bit and the case will snap open.
BUT BE WARNED......
There is absolutely NOTHING holding the drive mechanism in
the case. it's slotted into a plastic frame that is only held in by
pressure alone...
The minute the case opens it all springs apart and you'll see what I
mean when you open your drive.......
It's truly a wonder that the thing works when you see nothing holding
it together but the pressure of the two case halves.......
I'm wondering if I should even try then. The problem is that the drive
will clik twice when a disk is inserted, but it won't read it. Normally
Zip drives clik once and then read the disk. The drive is installed
properly, with the right driver, etc., and appears in my computer, but
acts just like a drive with no disk in it. I have tried several disks
'known good'. I thought maybe the motor bearings, or mechanism, had
seized or something, and if I could get it apart I could free things up a
bit.
