I have a Zenith PV4657BG which is a C3 chassis. The low voltage power
supply seems to be fine, putting out 150, 18, etc. However, the unit
goes into shutdown upon startup. It had the HOT shorted, which I have
replaced along with the flyback. The 115V regulator trans was also
bad and I have replaced it as well. When the unit goes into shutdown,
there is 150V on both the collector and emitter of the VR trans. It
doesn't help to bring the set up on a variac, as the SMPS either puts
out full voltage or doesn't run.
Is this 150 normal in shutdown, or is there a problem with regulation
causing the shutdown? Any ideas what to check? I can't find any
other bad components and this set is driving me nuts!
