Z80 simulator for Linux

Can anyone make a recommendation for a good Z80 simulator for a newbie?
I'm also looking for one that allows for "peripherals" for inout/output,
e.g. LCD panel, switches, etc. TIA

Why not make your own hardware debugger and port my HD647180 code to the Z80.
I recently added a graphic interface written in pascal with Kylix. What
I need to add is symbolic debugging.
