International Rectifier's new IRF2804 power MOSFET is finally in stock at
Digikey. The part really exists and is available for sale/purchase. Wahoo!

Yum yum yum... The part has higher blocking voltage, lower on resistance,
lower cost, much better reverse body diode characteristics, lower gate
charge, higher peak avalanche current capability, and lower thermal
resistance for higher power dissipation capability than the previously very
impressive IRF3703 device:

The only disadvantage I can see with the new IRF2804 offering is it has a
lower total single pulse avalanche energy capability than the IRF3703, but
that is small price to pay for the benefits, especially considering its 1080
Amp peak avalanche current capability.
It seems technology is advancing... And getting pretty good at that.
