Yamaha RX-V495 failure

Hello all,

I've got a Yamaha RX-V495 that immediately shuts off when the power button is pressed. If the diagnostic function is activated it briefly shows 'PS <some value below 100%>' before shutting off.

It does this with nothing connected to it.

Any clues?

probably a power supply problem

without some test it is difficult to say if it is an under or over power fault

do a google search for a service manual and if your technically minded enough you may want to check the various power suppply rails and see if they are all working within tolerance.
