I have a Yamaha CR-620 receiver that someone removed Q809 relay driver.
Does anyone know what type transistor belongs there?

Thanks in advance.

Not your answer,but data anyway.
In the "CR-640" the relay is driven by 2SD734,which
is driven by a 2SC1815 in a Darlington arrangement.
The driver is labelled TR904.
Obviously completely different circuit.

Happy hunting anyway. - Mo.

You completely missed the point. You DID NOT answer his question.

"How would you like it if you went to a cafe bar and asked for a coffee
and the waiter delivered you a cup of tea instead.

Nothing personal, just trying to correct a common error."

Sorry for using up your thread space here Mark but I need to comment
on a comment here.

Sofie.
The difference is that the waiter advised the customer that he doesn't
have any coffee and then offered the tea.If said tea was unacceptable
the waiter suggested that another restaurant may help with his
request.
It's not what you say but how you say it.

Seconds out,round 3.

Cheers - Mo.
