How is a cable to use on the PL513 interface different than a standard
    phone cable?

Something to do with 1 to 1.

    I thought a phone cable was 1 to 1.

  2. I found this really old file on my computer, dunno if it's still applicable:

The cable required for the Pl513 module is shown below. It is made
of 4 wire phone cable, an RJ-11 connector, and a DB 25 pin male
    connector.

The cable used with the x-10 interface modules is a straight-through or
patch cable. A standard telephone cable is a crossover cable.

Thanks Gordon. I should have mentioned I need the RJ11 connectors on
    both ends.

Im using the PL513 with a Visonic alarm.

So if you were to take the RJ11 connector off the end of a phone cord
and turn it over it would be straight thru. Right.

  5. sorry. i don't mess with x10 stuff anymore, i just had that on my 'puter...thought it might help.
