wiring this variac?

it is a MASTECH 2KW VARIABLE TRANSFORMER
i need it to vary some voltage for me
please help

It looks like you're supposed to put 115 VAC in on the black terminals (Phase at the top, Neutral at the bottom) and you get 0~250 VAC out of the red terminals (Phase at the top, Neutral at the bottom).

Variacs aren't isolated. If you need isolation, use an isolating transformer before the variac.
