Hi there,

Does anyone know how would to build a cheap wireless transmitter? I would need some sort decoder and encoder? is it cheaper to build myself or buy one pre-build? I would prefer not a infrared transmitter so I do not need to point each time I need to remotely control something. I am also interfacing decoder with uC. What would be the cheapest way approach the problem? Channel number can be up to 8 or can be less.

thank you

Hello
Although it would be much more fun to build your own, it's not that easy because you have to ensure you are not radiating too much power and you are not out of band. You can buy very cheap transmitters and recievers on the net but make sure you choose one that you can use in your country (ISM Band).

it just a propeller clock. I guess infrared transmitter will be fine, because i looked on ebay the wireless transmitters are too bulky and I don't want to use adruino. What do you think encoder and decoder would be good (not adruino)?

I don't understand why you need a wireless TX/RX system for a clock ?
what do you need externally that cannot be put inside the clock box ?

explain more clearly what you are trying to achieve

cheers

yes there is size restrictions, powering will be either battery or a brush system. I am just looking for a encoder and decoder n this case.

The HT12E/D system will be your best bet

but I suspect you are going to have to up your size restrictions a bit ;)
