Wireless LAN on a Sailboat

I would like to hear from anyone that has had any experience running a
wireless LAN on a cruising sailboat.

Any enlightenment will be appreciated.

I want to run more than one computer on the boat, sharing files and
resources (printer) and connect to wifi if available. WiFi is NOT the main
reason tho.

BTW:How does off-the-shelf equipment hold up in the marine environment?
