Hello! I have acquired a roll of Shielded Audio and Sound Control Cable that was left in a pile of junk in the house I am now renting. Everything else was garbage but this seems to have some value. 5000 feet. 18 AWG, 1 twisted pair, Beldfoil shielded. No brand name. Any idea what this might be worth? Many thanks to any replies! Eric

Probably a few of dollars a Metre / Yard if you sell it piecemeal. Put it on Ebay and see what sort of response you get. It is after all only worth what people are prepared to pay.

Thanks for the responses, gents! If I can carve out $100 it would be a win. I don't need it and it is just sitting there at the moment taking up space.

Beldfoil is a trademark of Belden so you know what brand it is now. There should be a product code stamped or embossed on the cable jacket.

A new 100-foot spool of Belden 8760 18 AWG twisted pair with Beldfoil shield is currently (06 May 2018) sold by Amazon for $97.00... but there were only 12 spools left in stock.

A 5000 foot spool is a sizable amount, and if you are an electronics hobbyist, it is probably a lifetime supply. It's worth whatever a willing buyer is willing to pay. Try offering your cable on a per-foot basis on eBay, perhaps with a 100-foot minimum order for $25.00 plus shipping. Accept only Paypal as payment.

Twenty-five bux for one hundred feet would appear to be a good price, compared to Amazon. You would only need to sell fifty 100-foot spools to get rid of all of it and pick up $1,250. If you get greedy and ask for $4850 for fifty 100-foot spools (same as Amazon price), or for your entire 5000-foot spool, you are likely to sit on it for a few more years.

A 5000ft reel would weigh in at around 130-150lbs...... is this what you genuinely have????

All depends on the part No. for e.g. the 4 pair Beldon (9891) I use for encoders runs around $900/100ft.
