Hi, does your monitor have video-in?.
DVR’s, TV’s etc do (mostly).
You possibly need a VGA adapter. What monitor is it?.

There are two different types.
PAL and NTSC.
Depends which country you are in as to most common type.
You need to supply more detail on the camera, monitor dvr what plugs you are using etc. etc.

Have you got three RCA’s, white, red and yellow?. Yellow being the video inplut.
If not, you will require a vga converter.

AHD is analog high definition. Have you tried plugging in a cam corder to the RCA’s.
They may not accept analog signal. Which is why you would need a video to vga converter.

On the other hand, you are selecting the right signal source on the monitor??.
As you have not answered my question yet in my first reply. It’s difficult to say.
Myself and @Bluejets both asked “what monitor is it?”. Only then can we help you further. Or Google your monitor model and find out what inputs it supports. But I suspect more hardware is needed to convert the camera signal to that of the monitor. In which case is a VGA converter of sorts. There are many online. I bought mine from Radioshack/Tandy years ago. But Ebay has plenty in different formats/connections.
