Hi,
I'm hoping someone can recommend a photoelectric switch for outdoor use (switches on at night) that would be appropriate to use with a 12V DC power source, running half a dozen LED's, be somewhat rugged/waterproof, and be under $20.
Thanks!

Hi Marc

Do you want it premade or do you want a circuit so you can make it yourself?

I'd prefer a premade switch, I'm not very electrically inclined. Something I can just wire into my project.
Thanks!

Type in: "DC 12V Photoelectric Switch Sensor Relay Module 50mmx25mm w 2 Cable" in amazons search engine. It looks like what you want.

I looked on ebay and amazon and that one in the post above is the only thing I could find that is like what you want. What you might try doing is looking at surplus electronics sites and see if they have something like what you are after. You also might try to get a kit that will do what you want (a kit should be pretty easy to assemble as long as they do not use any SMD components).

I really did not see much on the market that is like what you want. You may be forced to build something from a circuit if you really want this done.

Hope I've helped

Home Depot sells the switch you want, installed in a single or dual light fixture for outdoor use, for less than $10
