Would like to know if there is an industry standard nvm file programmer.
Is there a serial programmer able to re-programme most nvm chips ?

Non-volatile memory like eeproms ? It helps if you don't use non-standard

Most decent 'universal' programmers include the popular eeproms and flash

The PC2400 programmer available from Lloyd Research does exactly this job. It is supplied with an In circuit lead for programming both dil and so 24cXX chips in TV sets as well as having DIL and SO sockets. An neat adaptor will soon be available for programming via the HDMI socket. The PC2400 uses USB which makes it great for laptops etc. It costs 175 pounds and is usually available from stock. It is also sold by RS Components. Just type 'Lloyd Research' into Google for the web address - we make it!
