    Hello, what's the purpose of a capacitor and resistor across a computor
    main switch?

    This is for noise suppression when the switch is turned on or off. Some
    engineers refer it to being arc suppression.

    The capacitor suppresses arcing and the RF noise. The resistor is a damper
    or snubber to prevent oscillation.
