I want to monitor the front door as well as other rooms.

It has to be colour, work in darkness as well as light and also have sound.

It will be hard-wired so it doesnt need to be wireless but it would be handy
:)

So what should I buy? NOt looking to spend too much, maybe $40-70 each
camera.

No camera works in darkness.

Wrong. As always. Plenty do. And plenty have led IR
illuminators which still qualify as works in darkness, cretin.

** Cameras need light to work, period.

No cheap "colour , miniature" one works well in very low light.

And the best cameras work fine at light
levels that people call darkness, fuckwit.

And IR illumination still qualifys as 'work in darkness', cretin.

Even a completely unemployable pathetic excuse for a bullshit artist should
be able to wank its way out of its predicament better than that pathetic effort.

No wonder you're completely unemployable.

None do any such thing.

Wrong. As always. In spades with the situation he asked about where
'in darkness' actually means with the usual street lighting etc most of the time.
IR light is light - fuckwit.

Pity its still WORK IN DARKNESS, fuckwit clown.
Right as always.

Wrong. As always.
Context, context, context, context, context ....

Wanking, wanking, wanking, wanking, wanking .....

No wonder you are completely unemployable.

colour cameras won't work too well in darkness. you'll need IR under low
lighting conditions, but you'll end up with a B&W image.

I've seen colour camera's go as low as 0.1Lux, but they usually price in the
$100's. Nothing near the budget you're asking for.

I have a 'low light' IR camera that can see as low as 0.005 Lux. But it's
not colour. I got it for around $45USD.

Try talking to a security surveillance company.

You won't get all that in color for $70. A B&W IR camera without sound costs $109 from jaycar. With color and sound it would
probably be $200

I may have for sale a mono Bischke camera that's rated to 0.01 lux without
illumination. 2/3" CCD, c-mount lens. You'll have to get your own lens though.
it's a bischke ccd-500, made in japan, 12VDC.

Been wanting to install it but haven't got around to it for ages now. A good
offer might convince me to just sell it.. :)
