What is this component and what is the value?

This is an audio distribution unit (Music Ass 6? Oh, Musica SS6!) that I inherited with the house. I realized music was only playing out of one speaker in half of the house, and finally traced it back to this unit and saw the culprit. The inside of the case is scorched, too. Must have been a big bang, in theory.

I thought this was a capacitor but was told at a local electronics shop that it appears to be for transient surge arrest and is most likely an MOV. I say likely because I have not been able to look up the value markings to see what to replace this with. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks for any help you can bring.

Yep, the F2 gives it away that it's not a cap. Looks like the MOV did it's job, I hope! Good luck!
