Hi Guys,

Couldn't identify what component this is. Is the shape meant to be like this? Found this in a TV Power Supply Circuit.

Moreover it is being a faster switching, high current inductor, of ~4.7 uh inductive value.
If pulling the heat shrink covering for inspection, you would find the windings nestled down
within a " dumbell " ferrite core.
For enhancement of its magnetic coercivity-efficiency- Q, there is being a strong ceramic button
magnet bonded on its far end.
If this was found in an older CRT based television / monitor I would more likely suspect this to be
utilized in the systems horizontal deflection circuitry, RATHER THAN in its power supply circuitry.

The PS is likely a switching supply (by itself) or the inductor could be in a "switching regulator" portion of the PS. Texas Instruments has a whole series of Power Management devices that utilize switching methods.

Thats a ROHS. name means its a time trial and component thats designed to do its job correctly and with a certain amount of stability and proper functioning.
most ROHS are specially designed to meet ROHS specs. like a ROHS designed for a heavy wire system will be designed for that enviroment, but if you used a different ROHS of the same size designed for a light wire system, it would probably fry out.
