heya peeps!!
i was trying to make an am transmitter circuit as my project, searched the web for a decent circuit which components are easily available.. so i got the 555 am transmitter..

was testing the circuit on work-bench program, made the input signal come from a function generator, sine wave, 1Khz, 10Vp2p.. tried to take output of the antenna on an oscilloscope, and it was like a sine wave with noise x_x

so i tried to test it on another program (NI circuit designer v10), and unfortunately couldn't find an antenna in the components x_x.. so i connected a LED instead of the antenna, and tried to see the output signal again on the oscilloscope, and it was really strange.. the output signal was like that:

the schematic circuit is:

if anyone can help explain if there were something wrong i did, or why the output came like that in the 2nd time?
have checked the circuit for errors by NI, and there were 3 errors in connections:
Multisim - 2012-03-12 01:55:13

ERC [555trans.out taken on a led, instead of an antenna-schem] <2012-03-12 02:07:08>
Error: Connecting 'Bidirectional to Power'; [Q1 pin C] to [U2 pin 8]
Error: Connecting 'Power to Bidirectional'; [U2 pin 8] to [V1 pin 1]
Error: Connecting 'Bidirectional to Out'; [Q1 pin B] to [U2 pin 3]
ERC [555trans.out taken on a led, instead of an antenna-schem] completed; 3 error(s), 0 warning(s); Time: 0:00.06

the circuit i made on the program:

i already know that the LED will block the negative half cycle, but the other half doesn't look like any AM modulation I have ever seen..
any help will be appreciated :)

thnx
