    Anyone out there ever mess with this programmable chip that has a fuse link?

    Can the link be bypassed?

    Depending on the chip, you simply reprogram them the way you want them.

    If you're talking about one that stops you reading the code, then, yes, these too can be reprogrammed, but doing that will clear the program.

    (some early chips had *real* fuses that once blown could not be cleared)
