ViewSonic V775 monitor - only vert line in center

Hi All,

The picture on this monitor has shrunk to only a vertical line in the
center - about 1/4" wide. Prior to that, it would sometimes get
darker than normal, but brightness would return if I gave it a rest.

I can handle a component replacement, but outside of VOM have no other
instruments or service manual for this thing. Hate to thrash it,
since the picture was quite good, just before the failure. Any hints
?

Regards,

Rich

You would have to be able to troubleshoot the monitor for a failure in the
horizontal scanning. You can call Viewsonic to find their local service rep
for your area. With a proper estimate you can determine if you want to fix
the monitor. To service this you will need a lot more than a VOM and some
simple electronics knowledge.

Is it possible to get the whole main board for monitors of that
vintage? Finding a bad component may be more than I can do, and too
much ($$) if someone else does it.
