Viewfinder with white screen, image strugling.

Please somebody help. Camcorder Sony ccd-tr75e. Latest:
Has had all caps replaced, all is in working order except for the
viewfider image is strugling to appear. sometime I think it looks like
a negative but only just and other times I see dark shadows of the
image(if you think this is confusing, well so am I); the background is
constanly a white screen. The HOT and damper diode have also been
replaced.
This occurs in camera mode and VTR mode.
So, am I nearly done with this repair or getting closer?
Experienced advice greatly appreciated.

Also I note that the FBT is hotting up.
