    I have a three-way cable splitter with taps labeled -3.5, -6.5, -6.5. I
can't remember what this means, and whether the higher the number the
stronger the signal. Is that dB loss? And is the tap labeled -3.5 putting
out the greatest signal of the three taps (least amount of signal loss)?

  2. -3.5 is the strongest signal. Internally it looks like so:

    _____ -3.5
    /
    IN---<
    \ ___ -6.5
    \ /
    \<
    \____ -6.5
