Thanks in advance and any help will highly be appreciated.

I'm very new to LCD monitors. What happens with the LCD is it goes off
intermittently and while it is lit half of the screen is brighter while the
other half is dull. I have opened up covers and am assuming it has got
something to do with the tubes or the voltages supplying to the tubes.
Does anyone know of a remedy for this type of behavior?
and can anybody tell the high voltage range supplied to tubes?
I'm also suspecting of the presence of 2 tubes. Is this a valid suspicion?

Good possibility that one of the illumination tubes is intermittant, however
it is also possible that part of the display itself or even the drive
electronics to that particular section may be at fault. Check the
interconnects between the drive boards and the LCD panel and well as the
lamps.

Thanks Art
all interconnects are fine but I do not know the supply voltage of the
tubes. Do u know typical supply voltage for the tubes.

Depending on its size, a CCFL tube needs 300 to 750V ac at 2 to 7 mA of
current to operate.

I have removed the drive electronics cct board for ccfls. Its an SMT board
and close visual inspection showed nothing much but i have found a capacitor
with a little bulge - a small lump. I suspect this cap is faulty. Its
difficult for me to interpret the value of this capacitor. its written on
top of it .15J100
Can anyone identify me this value.

TIA

..15 ufd @ 100 WVDC, probably a high temp device also.
