    Post a complete schematic while you are at it.

    Those fritzing things are useless.

    Automobile voltmeters draw more current than multimeters. Measure the current into your meter when it is connected across a reasonably stiff 12-volt source. That is the current for full-scale deflection, and what you must come up with by reducing the value of that 68-something resistor and connecting across a six-volt source

    FYI. I removed the resistor and it measures 67.7Ω.

    Hello,

    Then it must indeed be the 68.1 Ohms, wich is a valid value according E48, E96 or E192 series:
