Hi, new here & would really appreciate some help with a circuit.

Basically, I have a circuit board that sends a signal to another board when two wires 'touch', I would like to simulate this 'touch' when a laser pointing at a photo resistor is 'tripped'/the light stops shining on the photoresistor.

I have included a diagram to further explain what im trying to achieve.

    Thanks for any help :)

You mean that when two wires touch you want to send a steady pluse to the MB like 5v?
Please explain what kind of signal you need to send
It looks like you will need an optocoupler instead of a photoresistor
What are those two wires? where they come from and how many volts are on them? are those signal wires or just power?
