i got my rgb lights on my pc mod now i want to extend them to backlight my monitor i dont like the rgb factor conection its not tight and easy to touch the metal case, i want use a empty pci slot/braket and mount a usb port feeding from the 12v rgb connection and make a usb cable running to the backlighting. just unsure if usb cable and port itself can carry the 12v 5a max the controller will putout

I do not know what you want to do but I would suggest that you do not put 12V on a USB cable, that is a recipe for disaster.
