Hello everyone! I was recently at the MIT SwapFest and found this little guy in a "$1 for anything" pile. As I was perusing the selection I ran across this, and of course not knowing what it was, I grabbed it and brought it home. The guy at the bench didn't seem knowledgeable and told me it was just a "power supply in a box." It may be, but I don't have a clue what exactly it is for. Thanks for the help guys!

Sure thing! Well actually there are no side plates or shielding, it seems to be an open type design. It could also be completely home-brewed; I don't know.
