hello,

I have a small battery charger unit. In theback there is a logo ; UL
in a circle. I found on google that it is a standard for safetly. But
I saw there are many levels for different tools. Like UL 325, UL 745.
what does all this mean. Mine does not have a number beside it. in
which category does it fall in ?

** The UL logo is not any standard.

But
I saw there are many levels for different tools. Like UL 325, UL 745.
what does all this mean.

** They are standards for garage doors and portable power tools.

Mine does not have a number beside it. in
which category does it fall in ?

** The UL logo just means the device bearing it has been checked to comply
with the appropriate standards for what it is.

For example - glass tube fuses often bear the UL logo.

There are many different UL standards, all of which deal with different
products, different environments, and aspects of those products.

The UL standard dealing with battery chargers is UL-1236. Amongst other
things, the standard describes the requirements that the charger must
meet with regards to safety aspects. In this context, safety aspects
refer to things such as how how any portions of the enclosure that the
user may come in contact with, and how resilient the device is to being
dropped, etc.
