Hi

Cracked LCD panel on a dropped LG TV (oops).

Panel is an LC151X01 (C3P1).

Anyone know of a source from which I (in the UK) could obtain one?

Cheers

The TV manufacturer will probably be the only place you might get one,
but it's unlikely they will supply the panel as a spare and even if they
do the price will be approaching the cost of a new TV; probably your
only option is to replace the TV.

(this is experience from trying to replace a laptop LCD)

Time to check if you have accidental damage cover on your house
insurance...

And, if you do and you file a claim, you will be "Non-Renewed" on
the next anniversary date.

This is not the case in the UK, yet.

Mmm. LG.Philips don't supply replacement panels for laptops directly (on
their FAQ on their website), although reading again it doesn't say the same
thing about TVs. I'll try LG in the UK.

Incidentally, the same page has some corporate BS that's the funniest thing
I've read all year:

Heh. I do - I've already claimed! They're sending me (most of) the cash for
a new one and it seems they're not interested in taking away the old one. I
don't -think- I'd be breaking any laws by saving myself some money and
fixing it instead.
