Two independent alternators - one battery bank

Does anything unusual or damaging happen when you have two alternators
powered by different sources - say hydro and wind - both attempting to
charge a single battery bank at the same time?

assuming each source has the proper charge controller attached
correctly, nothing unusual or damaging happens. This is the way most
systems work. Few have single source systems, as the sun is only at full
power a few hours each day if one is lucky, and wind is also sporadic.
