They're not. AFAIAA the tri-axial end terminates at a screw terminal/clamp arrangement and the BNC ends are made up as standard i.e. the second screen at the BNC end is unconnected therefore not shown on the designation.

  • I don't think that's true, kelly's_eye. The center signal and both screens are connected on a Trompeter 150-47 (see attached).

Quite an unusual connector! But not the 'BNC' the OP spoke about......

My only experience of triax was during the install of marine HF transceivers where the triax was connected in the transmitter, right on the main PCB using double clamps.

I don't doubt the full double-screening is utilised to its full extent in specialist applications using the type of connector shown in your pdf but I confess to ignorance of it! Beyond my payscale :p

Anyway..... do you have a 'schematic' (symbol) of such a connector?

Actually, a schematic symbol was what I was trying to get at (my purpose in posting). I've worn my fingers down web surfing, trying to find out what the "correct" symbology is supposed to be.
