TV won't turn off

Hello,

I have a puzzling problem with a Masuda model K1404 (made by ONWA).

When I turn TV on with power switch, it comes up with a white screen. I
then have to press the standby (on either TV or remote) to get a
picture. If I then hit the standby again (which should put TV into
standby and blank the screen), the only thing that happens is the sound
goes away and the picture stays.

It looks just like the power relay is stuck in the ON position but this
TV
doesn't have a relay.

This machine has just had the HOT replaced as well as the electrolytics
in that area as a precaution and other than the above, it works
extremely well with good sound and picture. Not sure if this problem
was on machine before the HOT blew since I cannot contact the previous
owners.

Any help much appreciated!

Cheers,

Larry

I think that the B+ switch is not switching off the B+ from the chopper
transformer to the line output stage. The B+ switch (transistor) would be
switched off & on by the microprocessor IC.

Personally I would not worry to much about it,

Not sure if you are a TV serviceperson, I just left the trade a couple of
weeks ago, the best part I don't have to put up with all the crap from my
old boss, he was the worse boss I have ever had, apart from that customer
are all ungrateful today, not like the good old days,

Prob doesn;t help with all the crap el cheapo TV's on the market today. And
they worry about us recycling supermarket bags!
