    Hi,

I have an exercise bike which was sitting idle for some time and lately I decided to use it. Found that the up button was not working (button which makes the riding harder). And decided to replace it together with the remaining 5 buttons(which was working). After replacing all buttons and during the testing I notice that the start and reset buttons were not functioning as required and it was like im hitting on the up and down buttons instead. I was wondering what could have gone wrong that could make the start button work as the up button and the reset as the down button, I got no clue. Thanks for going through this and sharing your ideas.

Perhaps you connected the wires up in the wrong order?

Yes, I agree. It is very unlikely you wired them up incorrectly :D

Are there any other header connectors that you could have connected incorrectly?

When the start and reset are misbehaving, what do the up and down buttons do?

The main header connection will only plug to the board in one direction, so its impossible its connected incorrectly.
The up and down buttons, and the two middle buttons are working correctly.
    Any idea?

Maybe there's a solder bridge somewhere, or perhaps the connections of the new switches is somehow different.

    I'm clutching at straws here.

Photographs of both sides of the board would be a help
