Hello,

I'm looking for something (commercial or not) that allows me to do the following:

I want a light (12v, small lamp) to be connected to a battery of some sort. The battery is being continuously charged via a wall outlet. The lamp at this time is off. When the power is shut off from the wall outlet, I want the battery to start discharging, and then the lamp will turn on. After the power is restored, the battery will return to charging, and the lamp will turn off. Any ideas?

Alternatively, I've been looking at using relays to accomplish this, but every relay I used gets extremely hot, which is worrisome. Are there any more reliable continuous use relays I can find?

Thanks!

There are plenty of these available commercially.

Call it a "mains fail relay" and you'll find something you can run continuously.

Why do you say that? I know it's not very in-depth, but I was just providing a basic concept of what could be done.

No, it's just rubbish posting and that is why I am removing many of your posts.
