I want to make a car door locks triggering circuit.

When the cars ignition is turned on, power is supplied to the circuit and it
provides a 1 second burst of power (2 amps maximum) to another circuit like
    power door locks.

    any help would be great

    Thanks,
    Gundy

How about connecting to the 'starter' lead on your ignition. This will
give power only while cranking. The door servo units can withstand
    several seconds of continuous power.

That is what I am doing now... I would like something a little "cleaner"
We were discussing it over cocktails, and could not come up with a simple
    circuit.
    That's why I came here. ;-)
    Any ideas??

    Thanks,
    Gundy

    ...car door locks triggering circuit
    555 wired as a one-shot (monostable multivibrator);
    see the National Linear Databook.

    Relay with 12Vdc coil (>75ohms), 2Adc contacts.
