i just wondered how easy it would be to set off a fixed speed camera
    with some sort of circuit.

Would a circuit emitting a slightly different frequency work?
The reason i think this is becasue with a slightly lower ferquency it
would look like the dopler (sp?) effect from a passing vehicle?

    Any ideas?

ive got this friend who insists on driving throught the 40 limit near
my house at 20mph when he gets to the camera. It really annoys people.
it would just be really good to set it off as he goes crawling past...

The NZ Herald reported a story from Canberra (IIRC) recently, where 4
youths approached a cop parked on the side of the road with a speed camera.
3 of them distracted the cop by asking questions like how does it work, how
far away can it get you, etc. whilst the 4th youth stole the number plate
from the cops van. They then fitted the number plate to their car, and drove
past the camera 17 times at high speed.
