Toshiba SD-1600 DVD Player - Spindle Motor Not Powering Up

I have one of these DVD players which no longer spins the DVD up after
it is inserted. One problem was the spindle motor, which wasn't didn't
spin even after a low voltage power source was connected directly to
the motor. After reading postings on the internet, I found out that
spindle motors can sometimes be resurrected by spraying
cleaner-lubricant through the holes in the motor bottom for cleaning
carbon buildup on the brushes. This worked, as I could apply power to
the motor and it would spin freely.

The problem now is that controller isn't supplying power to the motor.
I assume that when the spindle motor stopped working, it blew out a
driver on the controller board.

I'm not an electronics repair person - would someone in this newsgroup
have access to a schematic and tell me which chip or component has
likely failed?

The SD-1600 uses a SD-1200 controller board.

Thanks,
John
