Toshiba 20" T.V.!!

Posted this earlier! M # 24AF43. Plug in,
comes on, barely visible out of horizontal sync
pix (basically no video), no sound, channels do
change! Looks like the common "prima 20" T.V.
problem! Trouble is, the procedure to access the
EEPROM/Micro won't work because there is only
volume up/down, channel up/down, & power switch
on front & you need menu on the T.V. to get in! Ideas?

Hit the video processor IC with some freeze spray and check the related
caps. Just fixed with similar symptom that had a bad cap and the chip was
very sensitive to thermal changes. One trace to the chip was cooked. Not
sure what happened to it but the chip, which was cheap, the cap, and some
work on the trace fixed the set.
