Toronto First time buyer needs advice

Hi, I am a first time home alarm buyer in North Toronto.

The house I bought has an alarm system already installed. The former owners
told me it has not been monitored for years.

I want to go with a monitored alarm company.

Right now I am looking at Alarm Force.

Does anyone in Toronto area use a monitoring system they are happy with and
could recommend?

Any details such as price etc. will be appreciated,

Thanks,

Alarm Force... also known as "Alarm Farce".

Their "idea" of a complete security system is one door contact and a motion
sensor for a 2500 square foot house. Your best bet is to get a few
estimates from companies in the Yellow Pages. Pick ones that *don't* have
the fancy ads. A small local will work hard to make sure you're happy.

Be careful about giving Mr. Skinner your address. He didn't like something

Bwahahahahahaha! You cannot seriously compare Skinner's offer to help with
what happened between the two of you, can you?? This has got to rank
amongst the dumbest things I've seen you post...

Again Robert, a blatant lie in order to damage another persons business. I
can't believe that I used to feel sorry for you. I am totally convinced (as
others are) that you are deserving of all the malice that is directed at
you.

Frank, remember our discussion?

Basshole, you aren't worth my time or effort.

You're lying. You sent me several e-mails bearing threats of physical
violence. I responded saying that I would not go anywhere to meet you and
that if you came on my property I'd have you arrested.

Uhhh...thanks for the "help" guys.

I guess I will be avoiding the smaller dealers like the plague.

I may get lousy service from the big guys but at least I am dealing with
sane "semi" professionals.

Never seen such asinine behavior as this. You guys install alarms? Jeez.

Sir, what you are seeing has nothing whatsoever to do with the quality of
installation or follow on service of small versus large dealers. Anonymous
newsgroups always generate strong feelings between members !! I strongly
suggest you don't do yourself an injustice by forming generalized opinions
based on discussions on any particular newsgroup.

Do get the recommended three quotes; do compare pricing, service and
warranty claims of BOTH the large and small dealers in your area. Then make
the best decision for YOUR situation.....

Best of luck

Nah you just come off as an unemployable **** who can't hold a steady job
with a decent bigger company like Alarm Force. Therefore you open your own
shop, scam a few people for some money, collect a welfare check and think
you are actually representive of the whole alarm community. I'm glad I met
you. No I will know to stay clear from those "small" yellow pages ad.

I would think any customer dumb enough to allow a **** up loser like you in
their house should forgo the alarm and allow scum bags to rob them blind.
After all if they trusted a loser low life like you then a security alarm
won't help them.

Now ......... you see Robert(?), here's where we differ and likely, simply due
to our differnet environments.

If he's dumb enough to take that universal attitude about *** all *** alarm
installers, with what he sees here in this microcosm, I'd simply tell him to
**** off. Who wants a customer who's that dumb? He's the one who'd expect free
service just because he was paying a monthly monitoring fee ..............

Uhhhhh well ..... you know what I mean ............ ):-]Jim

Bwahahahahahaha! Oh sure!! Go with Alarm Farce... They'll provide you
with their "advanced two way voice alarm system for free... All you pay is
one low monthly fee".

"This is the Alarm Force Central Station! Identify yourself immediately.
Police have been dispatched"...

That's what their "ads" say... They're a huge fraud and the joke of the
industry. You *cannot* dispatch the authorities without first *verifying*
the alarm (so the fact that the ad implies they do is both misleading and
untrue). How do you figure a "real burglar" would respond to someone saying
that (assuming they haven't already tracked in on the control by listening
for the entry delay "beeps" and yankin' the sucker off the wall)?

"Well, sir... I'm Joe and this here's Larry and we're your burglars for
today... While I'm talking to you I'm baggin' Mr. and Mrs. Jone's CD and
DVD collection and Larry has just discovered the jewelry box in the
bedroom... My oh my, that *is* a nice necklace and earring set you've got
there, Lare, old buddy... Those are real first class items. I'd leave 'em
in that nice velvet case if I were you so they don't get scratched up in
your backpack... And Oh... I almost forgot... this here VCR/DVD combo
player is something my Mom would really appreciate for Christmas... Thanks,
Mr. and Mrs. Jones... and thank you Alarm Farce for the opportunity of
robbing another fine home..."
Therefore you open your own
shop, scam a few people for some money, collect a welfare check and think
you are actually representive of the whole alarm community.

Hey... ixnay on the welfare cheque... Jim's a veteran. He get's a
military pension...
I'm glad I met
you. No I will know to stay clear from those "small" yellow pages ad.

Right... go for the full page full colour ones... They really need the
money!

I would think any customer dumb enough to allow a **** up loser like you in
their house should forgo the alarm and allow scum bags to rob them blind.

Yeah... In your case you'll get "Alarm Farce" to put in a system and "allow
the scum bags to rob you blind". :)

Or I could go with one you smaller guys. Unemployable, drug addicted losers
who spend all day arguing on the internet. That's exactly who I want in my
home installing security devoices- techo nerds who spend all day here being
internet warriors.

I can tell business is good for you guys. So good that you can spend 14
hours a day here arguing with each other.
That's what I call a great marketing technique. You might want to put down
the whiskey bottle, shave, shower, buy a suit and act respectable. Then
maybe...JUST MAYBE...you wouldn't have to be here all day and disrespect the
bigger companies. You can't blame people for choosing them over you losers.

Ahhh...to be a disabled welfare basket case.

Sorry asshole, you got the wrong picture.

First of all, I'm not selling anything here and don't give a flying **** what
you think or where you go to get ripped off. If you were so smart you wouldn't
be here in the first place asking dumb questions and making unfounded comments
and idiodic decisions. The very fact that you've chosen one of the companies
with the worst reputation in there area gives everyone a clue about your
deductive reasoning powers. And in addition, you haven't the faintest idea of
who I am or what I do, so your tirade is simply made of the bullshit that seem
to exude.

After 33 years in this industry, I'm living a pretty easy life in semi
retirement and semi luxury. You should spend more time only wishing you will
ever have it so good rather than making a fool of yourself here.Jim

Would your address in Toronto be either 999 or 1001 Queen Street West per
chance?

If not, I am sure that if you pop by you may be able to find the help that
you so obviously need. (and no, I have never been a guest at this facility
in any way)

Here's what you'll need to work for the big boys...

You'll need to be a "yes man."
You'll need to admire organized crime and maybe exercise this later.
You'll need to genuinely like sucking dick... and swallowing.

Don't waste money on cheap knee pads...buy good ones so they'll last.
Don't voice your opinions at work, go home and post them on some Newsgroups.
Don't make a decision that someone else can make for you, that way if it's
wrong, you can blame them for the decision.
Don't expect to be paid based on your experience, it's just a job opening.
Tell your boss the things you can't do, not the things you can do. That way
he'll expect less of you.
Remember. You are replaceable.

But then "NOBODY" recognizes this, because it's the world he lives in.
He's a Dime a Dozen, trying to input his two cents to make up the
difference. But then, I didn't feel a thing....
