Left in the rain, left with toxic/corrosive chemicals.....

appliances are already kept separately from corrosive chems, so this
isnt an issue. Tip operators can say where appliances are to be put,
they already tell people whre everything goes, so I dont see that as a
problem.

Currently goods like washing machines go into big containers: one
needs some kind of cover to keep rain off the rain sensitive items.
The repair machine would be covered to keep rain off already. This is
part of the cost of the operation, and a small percentage of the
enormous project cost.

Well, firstly theyre recent reconditioned recycled goods, and thats
seen as responsible and worthy of support. People want to think theyre
doing their bit, and green products and services command a
substantially increased price tag across the board.

I'd like to see you substantiate that. I don't know of your local situation,
but I haven't seen anywhere where people were prepared to [ay much if
anything for green products (apart from the niche market).

Anyone living here knows these things sell for extra across the board.
I understand its different in the states. Here we make a lot more
effort in this area.

How so? The equipment broke down; by definition, something is dodgey with
the design/construction.

All equipment breaks down, all goods have a failure rate, and lots of
people chuck out good items. We make use of that.

Hmmm. A marketer looking for a market.... :)

If you run a big project youre going to make what mileage is available
with it, naturally. And there the mileage is.

Only until they had a few break down and got a bad name. The breakdowns may
well not be any more frequent than if they bought new stuff, but guilt by
association is psychologically powerful.

Cant say I follow you. Anyone who contracts to buy such large
quantities of goods knows there will be a failure rate, wherever they
buy from. All goods come guaranteed just like new items.

By removing the general public from your market.

They were never there to start with. Wholesalers sell to business not
public, I've never noticed that making their business plan untenable.
Show me some figures and
I'll believe you.

What figures do you want? I'm not trying to sell anyone anything.

Just what wavelength of blue is this sky anyway??

? I'm not convinced youve really grasped this is blue sky yet.

There's far more to be gained from ensuring that stuff is built properly in
the first place so it doesn't become rubble. Even when your magic machine
repairs all sorts of stuff there'll be heaps of junk left over.

of course. The machine takes a percentage of it and turns it into
consumer goods.
