    hi,

just out of curiousity. does anybody know what IC does a USB thumb drive
installed with? just came across my mind to upgrade my 64MB to say ....
256MB by swapping the IC inside the thumb drive.

    thanks

I doubt if it would be that easy. They all use some form of FlashROM.
You would first need to find a new chip that has a compatible
footprint/pinout. Then there may also be changes in some sort of ROM or
interface to change the recognized size. That may be something impossible
    to change.
