I have a 5 year old LUX 9000 thermostat and have been having heating issues the last couple weeks.

When the program setpoint calls for heat, the furnace does'nt turn on. It seems that if I go to the unit and turn it to OFF and then back to HEAT, the furnace starts up every time.

I've taken the unit off the wall and tested the G and W contacts with DMM and never see a relay issue. I've did as the LUX site says and only using "energizer or duracell batteries" (unsure why) and cleaned the contact points from the unit and the wall plate.

I am guessing it is just time to replace but I would sure like to understand what the cause of this problem is.
