    Can I put 120 volt hot wire and a netural on my tongue and test it to see if it is still hot? I do it for nine volt batteries.

    only if you wanna die ............if so go right ahead, but my advice is
    use a neon screwdriver, only a few pennies will save your day

    You might die, particularly if you touch the hot wire first.

    Or you might just suffer severe burns.
