tesla's halo device

I have read somewere that Nicola Tesla,eccentric genius,love to appear
in public whith his body surronded by electric halo and generate
sparks whith his fingers.This is accomplished by a miniature
oscillator on his body.Someone knows of to reproduce this oscillator?

I've spent a lot of time fooling with Tesla coils and I doubt there is
any portable oscillator that would allow you to generate a corona over
parts of your body. Tesla was part showman and my guess is he used a
relatively large oscillator with a connection to the mains or large
batteries. Generating corona, of that size, takes too much energy.

Some of his pictures were double exposures. One famous one shows him
seated in the center of his Colorado Springs lab's primary coil with
lightening shooting from several coils inside the primary.
